Event Details

Join Lt. Col. James M. Larkin, USAF (ret.), for a discussion of his book, The Civil War in New Orleans. A Metairie native, Larkin has long been fascinated by the events that shaped the New Orleans area during the Civil War, one of the most tumultuous periods in the region’s history.

Since retiring in 2010, he has conducted extensive research using regimental histories, soldier diaries, military maps, and records at the National Archives to better understand the people and events that defined the conflict in the New Orleans region.

Copies of his book will be available for purchase for $25 (cash or check only). Purchase is not required to attend. Proceeds from book sales will benefit Friends of the St. Charles Library.
