A few highlights:

National Library Week
Taking place April 19-25, National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries and library professionals play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. This year's theme, “Find Your Joy,” is an invitation for people of all backgrounds to explore and discover what sparks joy in them at the library.

Litter Clean Up Kits
St. Charles Parish Library is excited to partner with Keep Louisiana Beautiful as a participating library in the Get Down and Clean Up program! Starting Saturday April 18, you can check out a litter clean-up kit with your library card at any of our six branches. 

Seed & Plant Swap
Bring your labeled plants, cuttings, bulbs, or seeds to exchange with other participants after a discussion with the River Region Master Gardeners on Saturday, April 11 at 10am at the East Regional Library in Destrehan.

Author Talk: The Civil War in New Orleans
Join Metairie native Lt. Col. James M. Larkin, USAF (ret.), for a discussion of his book, The Civil War in New Orleans on Wednesday, April 16 at 6pm at the East Regional Library in Destrehan. Larkin has long been fascinated by the events that shaped the New Orleans area during the Civil War and conducted extensive research at the National Archives to better understand the people and events that defined the conflict in the our region.

Copies of his book will be available for purchase for $25 (cash or check only). Purchase is not required to attend. Proceeds from book sales will benefit the Friends of the St. Charles Library.
